For the year 2011  we will be continuing our travels in the upper Burgundy region of France.  We have come to call the beautiful port of Bourgogne Marine in St Symphorien our home base.  It is located just off the river Saone near the boating center of St. Jean de Losne.

Our route this year is as follows:

Vandenesse to Dijon. The upper Burgundy canal is the most scenic of all the French canal routes.

Depending on the schedule the cruise may be in the reverse direction.  We have selected this route for it's rural beauty and it's proximity to many wonderful towns and fine restaurants, we always provide an excursion into Beaune, the beautiful wine capital of Burgundy.

With advance notice we may also be able to schedule cruises to other destinations.  Contact us for details.

We will work with you to plan an itinerary that is just right for you.   Do you prefer the shopping and museums of the larger cities or the local fare of the smaller towns?  Do you enjoy walking or bicycle riding?  We can also arrange for balloon flights over the vineyards. Other opportunities are vineyard tours and wine tastings, gourmet restaurants, antiques, historic sites and festivals.  From giving us a list of your specific desires to just letting us plan a potpourri of events for you, we can promise you a truly unique week of cruising.

Generally we will pick you up at the nearest train station and bring you to our barge.  Arrival and departure train stations all have good high speed TGV connections to Paris and other major European cities.
Due to the nature of cruising the waterways of France, our schedule must be subject to minor changes.  There are times when waterways are closed, rivers are running too high or a lock is out of commission.  We reserve the right to make changes in our itineraries but will always try to let you know ahead of time.  We will stay in close touch through phone and/or e-mail so you know of our latest location.
